John Philbin has appeared in thirty films and TV movies. You may know him best for his work as a dead president on the film "Point Break", along side Patrick Swayze and Keanu Reeves. And for his portrayal as the lovable, pidgin talking Turtle in the cult classic "North Shore." John also produced "Chasing the Dream", a documentary about eight Huntington Beach High School kids chasing after their dreams of careers in professional surfing. He was also hired specifically to teach Kate Bosworth to play a surfer for her breakthrough role in "Blue Crush."

In addition to John's film credits, he is a highly regarded surf instructor. The following are testimonials from some of his celebrity students:

– VIGGO MORTENSEN - “John’s a great teacher and a great surfer.”

– HELEN HUNT - “I feel totally safe with John. He understands how to explain what I need to know, in order to be comfortable in the surf.”

– KATE BOSWORTH - “John’s the greatest surf instructor. I couldn't have done it without him.”

As a surfer, John has tackled some of the heaviest waves in the world, from Pipeline, G-Land, to Tavarua. And he survived the deadly 1994 Indonesian Tsunami that destroyed the G-land surf camp.

Look for John in his upcoming films, "Knight Fever" and "Sin-Jin Smyth."
