Sunny (a.k.a. 9Fish Dude)

Sunny was born and raised a sponger, growing up boogie boarding on the heavy breaks of Huntington Beach. It wasn't until after graduating from Harvey Mudd College did he have enough money to buy a surfboard and wetsuit. At that point, Sunny realized how much more fun it was to ride a wave standing up. As his passion for surfing grew, so did his curiosity to better understand the physics behind the surfboard. Armed with an engineering background, Sunny and his buddy Wes started 9 Fish Surfboards. By designing and using boards that are super easy to ride, Sunny has been able to move up the pecking order at Sunset to kook level. He has even progressed from longboarder to only riding the 9 Fish Surfboards' 5'8" Grunion and 6'2' Seared Ahi that he and Wes designed.
